Abandoned house scheme

Survey every house in the suburb and attempt to determine if it is abandoned (i.e. no-one living there).

Possible conditions

No person in the house at that time

No motor vehicles there that have been recently driven

Gas, electricity no connected, or no recent usage

If so, add the house to the 'Abandoned house register'

1.

If a claimant comes forward in the future (e.g owner due to parents having died), the value of the house

could be paid out to them or they given a similar house from the register

2.

Houses can be claimed in the following ways

	1. to rent, rent $300 per week (after 5 months to settle in)

	2. to own, no rent although the person living there would be responsible for

paying council rates ($500 per year), and the costs of maintaining the building

		and the garden.

3.

Interested landlords can acquire the ownership part of a rented house, in this case

	Recieves the $300 per week

Is responsible for maintenance of the building and the garden

	Must pay the council rates

In both cases the tenant (person living in the house) is responsible for any gas, electricity or

	telephone charges.
